Flower Storage – How to Keep Flowers Cold?
Flower cooler cabinets are different from food storage cabinets. Flower cooling cabinets also have a humidifier. Relative humidity is as important in storing the flower as the storage temperature. In cold cabinets without humidifier devices, the flower will lose water, so its life will be shorter.
There are 2 types of coolers for flowers; flower storage cabinets and flower display cabinets. Although a large housing scale (which may vary depending on the type of flower) can be created for both
, a +1/+3 C (up to +4 C) containment temperature and 90-95% relative humidity (at least 80%) environment should be created for flower storage (storage).
Flowers stored at +6 C were found to deteriorate about 3 times faster than flowers stored at +1 C. As mentioned earlier, the ideal relative humidity in the flower enclosure is in the range of 90-95%, and if it falls below 80%, the deterioration of the flower will accelerate.
